  1. Open the HTCDev website and unlock the bootloader of your phone, this is essential in order to gain access to rooting.
  2. Download TWRP recovery to your phone, and transfer it to the same folder where adb and fastboot related files are present while unlocking the bootloader. Also rename the recovery file to “twrp”.
  3. In the same folder where you have added adb/fastboot and TWRP image files, simply type “cmd” in the Start menu and press enter.
  4. Turn your phone off and then press Power+down volume button, a menu will pop up using the volume keys select the fastboot option using the power key to turn on the fastboost mode. Connect your phone to your laptop.
  5. Type fastboot flash recovery twrp.img in cmd and wait for it happen. Once the recovery takes place, restart your phone manually or by entering fastboot reboot command.
  6. Download the Super User zip file from Koush and transfer it to your phone. Reboot into Recovery mode and flash the zip file from there.
  7. Turn your phone off and turn it on in boot loader mode while using the volume down+powerbutton. Go to the recovery option using the Power key select it. Now, TWRP will boot up on your phone instead of stock recovery from HTC. Press Install and then Super User zip file.
